Naseem Abduljabar uses black and white photography in his artwork to portray the subjective inner worlds of his subjects, often highlighting their disconnect with the surrounding environment. Born in Kuwait in 1979, Naseem is based in Qatif and is the general coordinator for the Qatif Photography club, and was previously Secretary of the Qatif Arts Club. His work has been exhibited in a number of group exhibitions at the local and international level, and he had his first solo show in La Trobe University in Melbourne in 2009. Naseem’s photos are published in a number of books including ‘Young Saudi Lenses’ by Dar AlMohtaraf. He received several awards for his work, including the Al Thani Photography Award in 2008 and 2015, as well as earning the title of FIAP Artist in 2014 fromFédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique.
